I’m Barry Kiernan, Head Exercise Rehabilitation Therapist at DBK Fitness. I’m a qualified Personal Trainer, with a degree in Sport Rehabilitation and MSc in Movement Analysis. I have been helping people suffering with injuries and pain to improve their quality of health for the last 15 years.
Since opening our gym in Glasthule we have helped 100s of people achieve their goals. During this time, we have noticed that some of our clients that trained with us had niggles, aches, and pains from previous injuries. These people initially felt unsure, nervous and were afraid to exercise or even move due to the worry of re-injuring themselves.
DBK Exercise Rehabilitation is a specialized 1-to-1 personal training service that caters for people that have finished physiotherapy, unsure how to do their exercises properly or if you currently have some minor aches and pains. We help people with knee, hip, shoulder, and back pain to start exercising in a safe and encouraging environment. Exercise can improve your strength, flexibility, confidence, and energy level and reduce your pain to allow you to get back to normal.
We give you the confidence to move through our detailed assessment checking your movement and general health. From here we design a tailored exercise programme for your specific needs which will start out at a comfortable intensity and challenge you as you progress.
